피아노 데이 서울 2019
서울의 ‘적도’와 런던의 ‘산 메이 갤러리’를 라이브 스트리밍으로 연결하여 두 곳에 있는 연주자가 함께 피아노 연주를 시도합니다. 공연 시간은 총 1시간으로 김지연과 샘 브라이서 스미스의 듀엣 퍼포먼스 30분, 네트워크 연결이 만들어내는 에코와 함께 연주하는 김지연의 솔로 퍼포먼스 30분으로 구성됩니다. 여기에 두 곳을 오가는 소리 신호의 흐름과 공연 속 시간이 작동하는 방식을 실시간으로 시각화하는 이강일 작가의 데이터 비주얼 작업이 더해집니다. 서울과 런던은 9시간의 시차가 있으며 네트워크 연결이라는 특성으로인해 시간차가 발생합니다. 본 공연은 이러한 요소를 퍼포먼스의 중요한 요소로 삼아 실험적으로 탐험하고자 합니다.

Networked piano performance between seoul and london.
Jiyeon Kim (aka 11) at Jeokdo in Seoul and Sam Smith at San Mei Gallery in London try duetting under live streaming system. The Program consists of 30 minutes for duet performance and another 30 minutes for Jiyeon’s solo with network generated echo. Along with the music, Gangil Yi’s data visual will be projected to enhance the flow of signals and how time works in the performance. There is 9 hours time difference between Seoul and London, plus a few seconds of delay. The performance will explore and embrace these elements as part of whole experience.

제천국제음악영화제
본 공연에서는 라이브 스트리밍을 음악의 요소로 활용하는 오디오비주얼 작업을 선보인다. 서버를 거쳐서 돌아오는 소리(네트워크 에코)를 음악적 그림자처럼 활용하는 피아노 연주, 공연장 밖 영화제 티켓부스에서 들려오는 실시간 스트리밍 소리, 그러한 소리 신호의 흐름과 공연이 작동하는 방식의 실시간 시각화가 어우러진다. 이를 통해 음악을 듣고 보는 것이 시공간의 확장으로 연결되는 경험을 실험하고자 한다. In this performance, we show audio-visual work that uses live streaming as an element of music; Piano performance with ‘network echo’ which comes back through the server as musical shadow. Real-time streaming sounds from the ticket booths outside the theater. Responsive data visualization of the flow of such sound signals. Through this performance, listening and seeing music can be led to experiment with the expansion of the concept on spacetime.
